Oak Hill Cemetery will host the third Cemetery Walk featuring historical personalities of Pontiac, Michigan portrayed by actors from Pontiac Theatre IV. Join us as we present Pontiac history while enjoying cider and donuts- the makings of a perfect Sunday in autumn. The historical figures featured are Joseph Edward Sawyer, a lawyer admitted to the bar in 1869, who had worked in the offices of Judge M.E. Crofoot; Amasa Bagley who was appointed Associate Judge of Oakland County Court in 1820 and who was one of the early settlers of the City of Pontiac. Other notable figures who will be portrayed are Dr. John P. Wilson, who was commissioned State surgeon for the Michigan 5th Cavalry during the Civil War by Governor Austin Blair; and Carl E. Parry, famously known as Chief Little Elk of the Chippewa Native American Tribe. The walk is scheduled for Sunday, October eighth with tours at 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. Donuts and cider will be served to patrons. Various items will be for sale at the entrance of the event, made from wood repurposed wood from renovated Hull Mausoleum roofing beams. All proceeds will go to the restoration of the historic cemetery. Oak Hill Cemetery is located at Tickets are $13 if purchased online, $15 at the door.
